Shared hosting with the awkward part taken out. You get the same familiar cPanel, on a platform where processor and memory are yours by the figure on the card rather than by whatever the machine has spare — and where an extra unit of each can be added later without moving the site.
The technology underneath. Everything shared hosting does, this does — plus a stated amount of CPU and memory, room to add one more unit of each, and solid-state storage on the plans whose card says SSD. If your traffic is steady and modest, Linux Web Hosting is the simpler and cheaper answer.
Solid-state storage: no moving parts, and reads and writes that finish sooner than the spinning disks that came before it. It matters most to a site that queries a database on every page. Three of the plans here are built on it and their cards say so; the older Unlimited Cloud plan is not, and its card does not.
Yes. A caching layer sits in front of the site so a page that has already been built can be served again without rebuilding it — which is what keeps a busy hour from turning into a slow one.
One additional CPU unit and one additional memory unit per plan, bought from the service page. Each raises an invoice first and is added at the platform once that invoice is paid, and the button stops being offered once the unit is on the service. If you need more than the units allow, talk to us before you buy — the answer may be a different product.
No — plans are not exchanged for one another in either direction, and we would rather write that here than let you buy the small one expecting to trade up. What grows is the plan you hold: the CPU and memory units above. Choose by the specification on the card.
Yes, as a paid add-on, bought from the service page like the CPU and memory units — an invoice first, then the address. Every cloud plan sold here is in the United States region, so there is no second region where the answer would be different.
Buy the certificate — from us or anywhere else — and open a ticket to have it installed on the cloud package. Installation is done for you rather than left as a cPanel exercise, and the certificate stays yours.
Yes. cPanel carries an installer for the usual applications — WordPress, Joomla, Drupal, shop and forum software — so the common ones go on without an upload, a database created by hand and a config file edited by hand.
Yes, and it costs nothing: switch SSH on from the service page. It is off until you ask for it, which is the right default for an account that does not need it.
Your content is your responsibility. The platform takes its own weekly backup and we can restore web, mail or database content from it if you ask — but that is a safety net for us, not a backup service for you, and it is the wrong thing to rely on. Take your own from cPanel, or keep them somewhere off the platform entirely.
No. Cloud hosting is a managed platform: the operating system and the runtime are ours to look after. A VPS hands you the whole machine and root access, and expects you to run it. Both are sold here.
No. Point a domain you already own, or register one here so both renew together on one account.
